What's coming: the redesign

In development: arriving page by page

The whole desktop app is being redesigned. Every section has been designed. Some of it is in the app today: the new menu, ⌘K, the fleet bar, the Overview board with saved groups, Settings › Fleet and split terminals. The rest is still being built. Each part below is marked. The guide describes today's app, and details may change as the rest is built.

The redesign is about one thing: watching a lot of agent work at once without hunting for it. Most of your time goes to one page that shows progress, everything else is a click or a keystroke away, and the app keeps working when your agents run on more than one machine.

A new menu

The top menu is, in order: Overview, Planner, Jobs, Inbox, Buckets, Tickets, Skills, ToDos, Terminals and Chat (Works today). The Settings gear stays at the right. Jobs will be renamed Flights (Coming soon).

Every page shares the same parts: a page header, a row of key numbers, one table style with filters, and a side panel for the details of whatever you clicked. The page header, the tables (press j and k to move through one) and the side panel are in the app today. You can pin the side panel, so it stays open as you move between pages and follows what you select.

The fleet bar

A thin bar across the top of every page gives a rough overview of all your machines (Works today). Hover it for more, or open it for a row per machine. It is built to stay readable with dozens of machines, not just one or two. Manage fleet in the bar opens Settings › Fleet.

This Mac's agent usage and limits are in the same bar (Works today), so you can see how close you are to a limit from any page. Other machines' usage comes later.

Usage budgets (In development). You can set a budget today in config.toml, under [usage]: a percent of an account's weekly limit, with a dollar cap on accounts that pay for use past their limit. When a budget is spent, the runner holds the next launch and Jobs shows Held: budget. There is no Settings screen for budgets yet.

Overview: watch the work

Overview is the page you watch. It takes over what the Monitor screen was going to do:

  • A board for the work in view (Works today): counters, an estimated finish, what is running now and recent runs.
  • Needs you sits beside the board (Works today).
  • Walks (Coming soon): a tab for the checks your agents could not do themselves, such as looking at a screen in light and dark, gathered into a checklist you walk through and record.
  • A chat bar along the bottom to talk to the agents doing the work, where you pick which Flight, or which group, the message goes to (Coming soon). Chat already has its own page.

Pick several Flights at once (Works today). Select any mix of Flights to watch them together, for example two Flights working on the same product. Save a selection as a group to come back to it. A saved group takes the place of a monitor. Its notification rules are saved but not acted on yet (In development). The Overview opens on whatever you were last looking at.

Since you last looked (Works today). The numbers show what changed since your last visit, with a seven-day trend line.

Planner

A page for the plans your agents write before they build, and it works today. Write a brief and pick a project and a model, and an agent drafts the plan. Answer its questions and approve it. Approve & ticket then files its tickets once you confirm, and the plan can go into a bucket. Each plan shows as running, waiting for answers, ready or failed. A plan waiting on you also shows in Needs you.

Grouping plans by stage, and a preview of the tickets before they are created, are coming (Coming soon).

Flights

Today's Jobs page, with the shared table and the pinnable side panel. Attended sessions, the ones you are working in yourself, have a section of their own today, and each runner has a read-only Watch view.

Coming soon: a Machine filter that shows only the Flights running on the machines you pick, and a one-line Next up strip that shows what each Flight will take next.

Chat

In development. A Chat page to talk to a crewmate, a named helper with her own agent, model and account, or to an agent directly. A reply links to any plan or ticket its run started.

Inbox: a triage desk

In development. Today the Inbox lists your DMs and chosen channels, lets you mark each message work or chatter, quietly files a plain thank-you as chatter, and sends a DM reply only when you confirm it.

The Inbox becomes a desk with the message list and a reading pane side by side. It opens on To sort, the messages that have no kind yet.

  • Auto-sort. Sorting can run by itself, behind a switch you can turn off at any time, or you can press Sort now to sort once. Fixed rules go first, with no AI model. Only what the rules leave goes to a small Claude model, in batches, under a daily token limit shown on a meter.
  • Accept guesses in bulk. Review & accept lists every guess at once. Move the ones that are wrong, then accept the rest in one click, and archive the chatter at the same time if you want. Undo is there if you change your mind.
  • Keyboard first. j and k move, x selects, e archives.

Everything in today's Inbox plan still holds: your mark always wins, and nothing is posted to Slack unless you confirm it.

Buckets, Tickets, Skills and ToDos

  • Buckets (Coming soon): one table of your work buckets, grouped by project, with the editor in the side panel. A bucket no Flight is working shows a Not worked label, and each one gets a seven-day trend. Today the Buckets page shows each bucket as a card.
  • Tickets: works today across Jira, Trello and GitHub, as a board or a filtered list. A Standup mode that walks you through your tickets one at a time, highest priority first, is coming to the app (Coming soon). Today standup runs from the command line.
  • Skills (Coming soon): a list of your skills first, with the graph one click away. Today the Skills page is the graph.
  • ToDos (Coming soon): a quick-add bar, and your to-dos grouped into Today, This week, Later and Someday. Today they are grouped into Overdue, Today, Tomorrow and Upcoming, then High, Medium and Low priority.

Terminals

Works today. Your terminal sessions, grouped by machine, in tabs, with split panes. Sessions keep running when you close the app, if tmux is installed. You can also open a read-only view of what a Flight's runner is doing.

⌘K: search and run

Works today. Press ⌘K on any page to find anything, a Flight, a plan, a ticket, a bucket, a skill, or to run an action without leaving the keyboard.

Settings and adding machines

Settings keeps today's appearance options. Settings › Fleet shows a summary row and a table of your machines (Works today). Editing, updating and removing machines from there is coming.

Add a machine (Coming soon) will give you one line to paste on the new machine. macOS comes first. Linux machines (Debian and Ubuntu, Fedora and RHEL, Arch and others) will run agents for you without the desktop app, and a Windows PC can join through WSL2 as a Linux machine. A native Windows version is not planned.

The phone

Coming soon. The iPhone companion grows with the redesign:

  • Overview, Planner and Flights on the phone. Follow a group's board, answer questions, approve a plan and queue it with Face ID, and start or stop a Flight.
  • Talk by voice. A hold-to-talk button on every tab, so you can ask about your work and hear the answer.
  • Phone notifications from the companion. The lock screen shows no details.
