Voice
Open source · early
Voice is a kit for building your own AI assistant that answers decisions the way you would. It learns from your own answers and messages to Claude Code, says how sure it is, and hands a question back to you when it is yours to make.
The kit is free and open source under the MIT licence: github.com/ziazon/voice. It ships no assistant of its own. You build yours in your own private copy.
What it reads, and where your data stays
- It reads your Claude Code history on your Mac and, if you choose, a claude.ai data export. From these it keeps the questions Claude asked you with the option you picked, and the messages you typed.
- Filters run first. Records about your own health, family, legal matters or household money are dropped, and so is anything holding a secret, someone else's identifier, an email address or a phone number.
- Raw data stays on your Mac. Only a paraphrase of how you decide is saved to your private copy, checked so that no run of six of your words appears in it.
- Nothing is sent anywhere else, except an optional copy between your own Macs and your own
git push.
Your assistant models your decisions from your history. It is not advice, and by design it never sends, signs, approves or spends as you.
Build one
You need a Mac with Claude Code, git, Python 3.9 or newer, and a GitHub account with an SSH key. A build takes two to three hours, most of it Claude working on its own, and it uses a lot of Claude tokens. It is safe to stop and run again.
- Make an empty private repository on GitHub. Don't use GitHub's Fork button: a fork of a public repository is public.
- Clone the kit, point it at your private repository, and push.
- Open Claude Code in that folder and say: "Follow bootstrap/PROMPT.md with me, step by step."
The README has the exact commands.
No Claude history? The person the assistant learns from doesn't have to use Claude. The build can learn instead from documents they choose and from rounds of questions they answer.
Coming next
In development Persona Builder, a standalone app with its own persona-builder command. It saves to your own private GitHub repository or only on your Mac.
